Project Update: The Timeless Caverns
over 1 year ago – Sat, Oct 19, 2024 at 02:21:38 PM

Dear Backers,

We hope this message finds you safe and well! We wanted to reach out and update you on our ongoing projects. Unfortunately, due to the significant impact of hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton, we've encountered some delays. We had considerable flooding from Debby, which we managed to mitigate for Helene. Still, we suffered roof damage and interior damage, and finally, Milton came in and just kind of finished us off. We just got power back on Wednesday. I've also had an injury to my arm, which adds to the challenges. Rest assured, our team is dedicated to keeping things moving forward! We truly appreciate your understanding and patience as we tackle these hurdles and work to get back to our usual pace of progress. Thank you for being such a supportive community!

Project Status:

We've tweaked some miniature designs to enhance their detail and overall appeal and ensure they meet our high standards. A few monsters have been swapped out with better models of different creatures from the original adventure.

While production is not yet fully completed, we were on the brink of shipping. We would have already started dispatching the finished products if it hadn't been for the recent weather challenges. Nevertheless, we remain optimistic and are pushing hard to prepare everything for you. Stay tuned for more updates this week, including pictures of the new miniatures and the box (which is more of a suitcase, as it turns out!) and an updated timeline that we will share with you soon. Thank you for your ongoing support on this journey.

My apologies for the lack of transparency. I wanted to make that "things are headed out" post, but I should have just let you all know what was going on, even if I had to type with one arm. I'll be updating often until we ship.

Backerkit Surveys en route & Studio Updates
over 1 year ago – Thu, Jun 27, 2024 at 12:54:32 PM

Greetings Dear Backers,

I'm sorry I haven't updated you here for a while; truth be told, every waking second outside my job and family has been dedicated to building out our print shop and preparing the Timeless Caverns to ship out in August. I keep waiting for the perfect moment when the shop is clean and it isn't 400 degrees out to send an update video, but I doubt that day will come, so expect a sweaty Juggy video this weekend to show off the capabilities YOU have enabled.

Project Status: The Backerkit Surveys are going out now. The first 5% are sent first as a smoke test. If you get one today, please fill it out so I can validate everything works and send it to everyone else. As promised, Curse of the Chupacabra Saga Edition is available to you for just $20.00 as an add-on. These books destroy the POD version—heavy laminated cover, 100# glossy bond paper with no corners cut, and only 200 are being printed. The Heroes & Horrors Codex from Timeless Caverns will be printed to the same specs; it will only be saddle-stitched instead of perfectly bound. The complete Digital package, including the color maps and The Heroes & Horrors Codex PDF, will be available through Backerkit in mid-July. We are still on track to start shipping the Boxed Sets at the end of August.

Next Steps: We are finalizing the dimensions for the box and then ordering them—the only thing we are not printing in-house. We are also finishing up the Codex for print and digital distribution.

Some Pics: I am an awful photographer, but I wanted to share a few shots:

The Xag-Ya and Xeg-Yi models printed
12d6+72 points of damage, save vs. death for 1/2
A late addition to the crew, the Trapper! Mini count up to 113...
It has a little face in there!
The Pech models printed
Tons of minis are getting ready for packaging!
Vacuform molds hot off the FDM printer

Other Sagaverse News:

Thanks to you, our print shop is open and taking on a few select orders before we scale up operations in September. Curse of the Chupacabra writer John LoCascio has decided to take a larger role in the company, and I am honored to make him a full partner. He is moving to our Florida HQ in early August. John will assist in all print and shipping operations and will have much more time dedicated to writing, promoting, and keeping up with our fans.

While I have been swamped with Timeless Caverns, John, Nedka, Miky, Matheus, and the rest of the Sagaverse Team have been working on our next venture: Comics! Our comics will cater to old-school fans who love comics and RPGs and the realms that lie between them. They will also tell tales in our RPG universe to synergize with all of our other upcoming releases. Our first 3 books are part of Backerkit's COMICTOPIA Promotion and will be printed in-house (thanks to you!) The stories, artwork, and price point will take you back to the Golden Age of comics. Please give our teaser page a follow to learn more:

Convention Updates: Unfortunately, I could not attend NTRPG due to a health issue. I know I really missed out on a great one, hopefully next year. I will be DM'ing at Virtual Gooeycon for the Alphinius and the Gooey Cube team during Gen Con. I will update again once I know which adventures and times. Sagaverse Studios will have a booth at Tampa Nerd Con and hopefully Quest Con in Florida this fall, I will be DM'ing at both events. We are also a sponsor for Tampa Nerd Con, it's a fantastic small con in the first week of November right on Tampa Bay when the weather is perfect. You can spend a day playing games and your nights carousing at the beach! I hope to meet some of you this year!

$1 Tier Fulfilled & Updates from the Studios
almost 2 years ago – Sun, May 12, 2024 at 01:06:53 PM

Greetings, Dear Backers!

The Timeless Caverns B&W Maps underwent a little enhancement and just went out. You should have received an email from my Gmail and/or Sagaverse email accounts with links to access them. The B&W maps were done in OSR style and sent to everyone who backed us for at least a dollar. They both have a gridded and gridless version. Thank you all again for your support!

Lesser Caverns w/Grid
Greater Caverns no Grid

Project Fulfillment Updates:

I lost a week of time due to diverticulitis, but I am back in action now. The funds from Kickstarter should roll in any day now so we can order our new equipment, begin printing the books, and pack the minis. Unfortunately, our trip to NTRPG Con will be canceled, but the silver lining is we will have time to finish this project ahead of schedule.

We will move to Backerkit for the fulfillment stage; you should receive surveys this week. Thanks to you, we will be printing our own runs of books from now on, and as an additional thank you, I will make Curse of the Chupacabra copies available as an add-on for half price (~20$). Our premier 300-page epic adventure for OSE and 5e is 5-star rated on DTRPG.

What's up next at Sagaverse Studios:

While Matheus and I have been working on Timeless Caverns, the rest of the Sagaverse Team has been writing and preparing for our next endeavor, COMIC BOOKS! We will participate in Backerkits' Comictopia Promotion in July and print our own books. These stories will span eras and be a harbinger for our flagship RPG coming this winter. The comics will continue as a series and enhance our games by introducing NPCs and lore and exploring the settings. More art will soon be coming to the teaser page below!

Curse of the Chupacabra 2.0:

Since we published Chupy, we've gained a few levels. The maps have been enhanced and rebranded. The miniatures all have bases pre-attached, have structural enhancements, and a few have been completely redesigned. Anyone who backed the Curse of the Chupacabra project will have access to the updated accessories, our own first-run printing at cost, and our Timeless backers at 50% off. More details to come.

Thanks again for supporting this project; it will prove a worthy venture for us all beyond this glorious Boxed Set with the impending new equipment. The next Update should be in about a week, when it all arrives.

Be Great!

100% Funding in the 11th Hour!
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Apr 27, 2024 at 09:42:21 AM

Dear Backers,

What a night! I was watching the seconds tick down. We escaped the dungeon with 1 HP left and no more spells, but we had victory in the end! Although I learned a lot, I gave myself a C- on managing this project. Kickstarting a Boxed Game is different than doing an adventure book with some cool supplements, a different market, and a much higher margin, a tougher sell. Lessons learned: trust that I will use them to improve as we move forward.

To thank you all for your support, I have decided to fund the first Stretch Goal myself. The miniature set will include the Xeg-Yi and Xag-Ya, bringing the total number of miniatures to 114.

With victory comes the spoils, which for us means our own fully capable print shop dedicated to RPGs: hard and softcover books, glue& staple binding, and a large vacuform machine for bubble packaging. The lessons we learned from Curse of the Chupacabra will speed up the delivery of this project. Many miniatures have already been printed, which is the slowest part of doing these. I plan to share video updates of our Warehouse Studio as I migrate all the equipment over the next month. The digital rewards will be released in about 2 weeks, and the physical will begin shipping in June.

I wanted to take a moment to thank my team, Miky, Steve, and John, and an extra big thanks to this guy:

MATHEUS!

Matheus worked extra overtime on this project, and his models reflect that. He is a great guy to work with who continues to improve his process and skills.

Up Next: This week, my notes on lessons learned, Sagaverse Studios release updates, and Project Fulfillment updates.

I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend; thank you again for your support!

We Did It Together! Thank You + Sneak Peek at Our First Stretch Goal!
almost 2 years ago – Fri, Apr 26, 2024 at 05:44:11 PM

Dear Timeless Champions,

THANK YOU!

As the final hours of our Kickstarter campaign dwindle, we are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your astonishing support, we've not only met our funding goal but surpassed it with grace and vigor!! With less than two hours to go, we stand on the threshold of making Timeless Caverns even more legendary.

Your enthusiasm, pledges, and shares have been the lifeline of this campaign. Because of you, our dream is now a burgeoning reality, set to bring countless hours of adventure and storytelling to tables worldwide.

But the adventure doesn't end here! With our funding milestone achieved, we're excited to unveil our first stretch goal at $12,500—the addition of two new exclusive models, the Xeg-Yi and Xag-Ya. These models, steeped in mystique and fantasy, promise to add new depths and challenges to your Timeless Caverns experience.

Prototype model of the Xeg-Yi

The Xeg-Yi, an entity of pure negative energy, and the Xag-Ya, its positive equivalent, are designed to captivate and challenge adventurers equally. Crafted with the intricate detail and commitment to quality our backers deserve, these exclusive models will only be available through this Kickstarter campaign.

We're so close to unlocking these treasures. Your continued support in these final moments can turn another dream into reality. Share the campaign, talk about it, and consider adjusting your pledge if you can—we're on the verge of unlocking something truly special.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in Timeless Caverns. Here's to Timeless Caverns and our generous backers!

Yours in endless adventure,

DM Juggy and the Timeless Caverns Team

P.S. Stay tuned for updates post-campaign. We can't wait to start the next chapter with you.
